Job opening:

The Production Designer is responsible for design build-outs for websites, web applications and mobile applications. 

Working as part of the UI/UX team, your job is to apply the design vision across the entire site. You will be working from design visions, UI patterns and style guides to build out all screens for enterprise websites, web applications and mobile applications. You will also be responsible for image sourcing and graphic creation in order to support the design vision. 

From time to time, you will also help design adverts and you will delight the development team by preparing immaculately organized PSD files.

This position pays $22.50 / hour.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Engage in creative concepting with design and marketing teams
  • Contribute your ideas and design solutions during the ideation phase
  • Build out all screens for website, web applications and mobile applications
  • Implement design vision and UI patterns set by the UI/UX team
  • Help create high fidelity interactive wireframes
  • Create highly organized and code-ready PSD files
  • Participate in the QA process
  • Efficiently manage your priorities in order to ensure that project timelines and due dates are met
  • Clearly communicate, well in advance, dependencies or missing assets/resources and problems that might prevent you from achieving your milestones and due dates, and
  • Write and contribute to design and usability related blog posts.

Primary Skills & Qualifications:

  • A college or university degree in graphic art/design
  • Professional UI/UX experience in web or mobile
  • Hands-on experience with web design, mobile design or digital advertising design
  • A disciplined approach to managing your own projects
  • High proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Knowledge of UX design best practices
  • Proven ability to adhere to brand guidelines and UI style guides
  • Experience with interactive wireframing tools such as Axure, UPin or Invision
  • High proficiency in image / icon sourcing and knowledge of popular libraries such as Thinkstock, iStock and Shutterstock
  • Proven knowledge of responsive grid-based design
  • Understanding of front end coding technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript and jQuery
  • Experience with iOS and Android design
  • Attention to detail and immaculate file organization
  • Digital illustration skills, and
  • Good English language skills and communication skills.

The following skills and experience are not considered essential; however, preference will be given to candidates who possess the following:

  • Digital illustration skills
  • Experience in iOS and Android design and SDKs
  • Comfortable with copywriting
  • Active participation in the design community
